This Sunday, May 17th will be the 42nd annual Duel at De Anza. I will be attending the event for my 11th year co-driving Tom Kubo’s CSP Miata. Last year’s event went really well, setting second fast time of the day following Vic Sias in his monster Street Mod M3. This year, we have made a few changes to the Miata, specific to this event to hopefully give Vic a better run. This year we hope to have the picture in picture in-car video working and data acquisition for everyone to get an idea of how the car works.
Try to make it out an support De Anza College auto shop.

see you there!
Long story short, I was not able to run the car and before the news actually set in, Rob Boynton offered his Midland Cabinet sponsored ASP 2002 GT2 Porsche. I co-drove the Porsche with Rob in 2004 for numerous events and a few years ago it was completely rebuilt with all the trick parts. So this was a familiar car (last time i drove it was sometime in early 2008 or maybe even 2007).
It ends up the car was a rough ride and the shocks were not adjusted properly for the surface. The car set up overall was well enough for me to edge Rob out of the first spot and we won first and second place for ASP.
